I really like this place- the food is fresh, the staff is always incredibly nice, and the atmosphere is good. I really like their outdoor seating too! We ordered micheladas and they were great- so was the seafood-steak-peppers in the hot pot (sorry, can't remember what it's called). And if you're craving sweets, both flans are so good. Although you should ask them to hold the chocolate sauce.

Perhaps I'm spoiled by decent TexMex, but this place just didn't do it for me. We didn't eat anything terribly offense. The service was a little light on the charm, but overall efficient and timely. Of the three tacos I tried (carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor), the al pastor was the best, if not a touch greasy, but they were all a little greasy. Chips and salsa were underwhelming and not the freshest version of either. The ground beef in Mr. P's crunchy taco tasted bland, like plain beef with no seasoning. Overall, I'd skip across the street or down SW Blvd for future TexMex.

There are many Mexican places you can go to and many of them are very generic which honestly is not surprising. Though this one despite its obvious generic qualities was pretty good I rank it second on my favorite Mexican places. It's worth it due to price and service which was pretty good. So to recap generic but good give it a try.

When I have to flag down a waiter, over and over again for napkins, silverware, drinks, water, food order, chip refills, our check - then something is terribly wrong. The actual busboy was more helpful than anyone else! All of this to endure below average food. Why Southwest Boulevard is considered the Mexican district I will never know because there isn't a single restaurant there that knocks it out of the park each and every time- most are adequate at best. El Patron is trying harder I will say that.

Typical Tex Mex - ok food if you're in a hurry and dont mind a greasy gut bomb! Service is great though, so there's that!

This place has drastically declined.I have been here before and enjoyed both the food and the service. Today neither was up to par. We wanted to sit on the patio. We had 15 in our group, but there were only 12 chairs available outside. The hostess was very adamant about not trying to accommodate us (maybe move three chairs outside temporarily?) And even more adamant that she had set up an area inside and that was where we going to sit. Her tone was rude and did not get the visit started positively. Service throughout the time we were there pretty much sucked. No one had a large order, mostly just a taco or two, but it took forever to get our orders. I know some at our table got a second drink, but I have no clue how because I only saw our waitress when she took our order and delivered our drinks, food, and checks. It took quite a while after we were all done to get our checks. I had a margarita and a cactus taco. We also received chips and salsa. I remember the chips and salsa being very good. Today they were not. The mild was nothing but tomato. It tasted like it had tomato paste added. If there was garlic, onion, or cilantro in it I would be shocked because you taste nothing but tomato. The hot was better, but nothing to be thrilled about. The margarita was terribly bitter. Super cheap margarita mix and just had an after taste of lemon rind. The taco was the best part. I liked it, but being my first cactus taco, I can not compare it. I was disappointed that it came in a flour shell instead of corn as requested, actually the waitress asked me, "you want that in a taco shell, right?" Not sure how that was messed up. Overall the experience was not good. What was once a good place has went downhill and is now a must skip along SW Blvd.

I don't normally trash restaurants....but this mediocre place has gone down hill. Salsa tastes of a metal can, chip are not as good as the grocery store brands. Both john and I have had upset tummies all morning. Meat tasted questionable, and I was right. Never again!

This is my favorite location they have. The food is always good, the staff is attentive, and they always accommodate our large groups.

I'm giving a rating of two-stars based on my last experience last Saturday. Normally, this place is above-average and we come here a lot but this last time was regrettable. Saturday nights usually mean going out somewhere to eat so we don't have to fuss with it at home. We're both tired and both of us have usually worked all day. So we piled into the Caddy and tooled down 7th Street to the #4 joint. I wanted something different this time so I went out on a limb and ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo which is shrimp cooked in a buttery garlic sauce serviced with pico, guacamole and salad, rice and tortillas. I also ordered some beans to go with. My dining companion had the carne asada. Well, what I got was a nice quantity of shrimp swimming in a little dish of garlic and butter, some wilted lettuce, a slice of orangish-pink, grainy tomato, a half a slice of avocado, no pico, tortillas, rice and beans. My dining companion almost had to call 911 because I about fell asleep face first into the plate of food, it was so boring. After a whiff of smelling salts (jk), I managed to eat most of the shrimp. There is something sinful and obscene about wasting perfectly good shrimp (but they were sooooo boring!). And where was the guacamole and pico? Nowhere to be found. Someone else must have gotten my share. What a disappointment! My dining companion stated that the carne asada was like chewing on shoe leather and was devoid of much seasoning. We tried to come up with reasons why this visit was so disappointing. Was there a new cook? Was someone having a bad night? It wasn't busy, busy, anymore than some of the other times we had eaten a wonderful meal here. I hope the quality isn't starting to slip. We've been dining here a number of years. It's convenient, quick, the service is good, the prices are good and usually the food is above average. We'll give it another shot in about a month and see what happens.

Awful, and I mean awful service. We got the distinct feeling the waitress didn't care about being prompt nor attentive. She was only nice to us at the end, when she handed us the check and seemed annoyed by us the whole rest of the time. On to the food - it took longer than any other Mexican restaurant we've ever been too, was overpriced and bland. We ordered fajitas and they arrived at our table barely sizzling. Our tortillas and plates came 5 minutes after that. We had to get up and find our waitress to get more tortillas, for which we were charged another $1.75. For some reason, a side of sour cream was $1.50! This place is always busy, but I can't imagine why given our experience. We won't be going back.

A tell-tale sign of bad Mexican food to come? It's told in the salsa. If you don't taste how lazy and straight-out-of-a-tin-can this salsa is, then you'll probably enjoy the rest of your unfresh, bland, and boring meal. To top it off, if you find brown/rotted iceberg lettuce to be disgusting with your lunch, don't eat here, because I've given this place more than one try, and the brown lettuce thing has happened more than once. Ugh

For the price I thought we had a pretty decent size meal. We went out for lunch, our server was friendly, food came out pretty quick, not so bad, I've had better, but if you're around the area and want a bang for your buck than consider this place!

Food: Good selection many pages on the menu. Portions are large. Not the best salsa; a little watered down as anther put it. Chips are just OK. I would guess they are restaurant style like you get from the grocery store. Lunch menu chimichanga comes with rice and lettuce to the side. I ordered a Pepsi. I never eat the rice, because I don't like Mexican rice. One thing I do like is that they give slices of real avocado. The food is OK but I've had better Mexican. I only go here because it's close to work. The service: This is their biggest complaint if you read other reviews. I give this location a poor rating. I've been to the Rainbow/SWBlvd location for lunch many times. I go by myself and I go early to beat the crowd. Still get unfriendly service every time. They don't smile or talk much. And they don't check back with me in a timely manner. I always have to flag someone down to get drink, salsa, or chip refill. Today I ordered beef Chimichanga for lunch. Waitress didn't ask so I didn't know to tell her ground beef or shredded. They just brought whatever and I had to send back. Manager was very friendly and helpful about it. Next time I'll know to clarify. I asked for my drink to go but whatever was in my cup wasn't regular Pepsi like I ordered. Price: My tab came to 8.98 plus tax and tip. Atmosphere: Large open room with vaulted ceilings and TV's mounted around the room. Lots of echo noise but not so much that you can't still talk across the table. Looks like they have a separate party room for large events. Also have an outdoor patio out front. I would have sat there today but thought I get better service if I stayed inside. I got the same poor service regardless. Conclusion: This would be a great joint if they could do something about the service.

Great authentic Mexican food. They have dollar tacos on Tuesday's. Good service. My favorite are the chicken flautas. Reasonable prices. Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.

Just to make it clear, I've had great Mexican food in KC. Surprisingly good Mexican food. Coming from a Texan, that's pretty high praise. And I was pretty excited about this place because the name "Taqueria Mexico" sounds right up my alley. However, my experience here was basically what I initially expected when Mexican and the Midwest collide: bland and inedible. - The margarita was the worst I've ever had: discolored, unpleasantly salty, altogether "off". - The chicken fajitas were covered in a mysterious and greasy orange sheen. - The beans were the consistency of pureed baby food. - The rice had been cooked in about 50% too much water. - The salsa was closer to spaghetti sauce than picante sauce. "But it's cheap!" you may protest. No. Eating out of a garbage can is cheaper and probably tastes better. Despair, all ye who enter here, because this food doesn't even come close to earning the title of "Mexican".

I love Mexican food. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Watch out for the watered down rocks margaritas. Always order the margaritas frozen. You're welcome. The food has always been pleasing - it's that "comfort" Mexican that you THINK is probably authentic, but then again it's nothing like a street taco, but what do I care? Fry up that burrito, slap some cheese sauce on it and take my money. In all seriousness, the menu does have good balance to it. You will find the smothered enchiladas and queso, but you can also ordered some very fresh shrimp and veg dishes. The menu is pretty large, so the likelihood is that everyone you take will find what they are craving. The restaurant is very down-to-earth and the food is quick.

I've been driving past this place for a couple years now and never gave it a chance because of the ratings on yelp. However this place was a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, fresh, and good portions. The service was excellent and friendly. The ambiance is definitely more casual than I expected. All around great experience.

I walked in, sat down and noticed that on New Year's Eve there weren't any college football bowl games on the televisions, but instead Premier League Soccer. Now, that's authentic. When I dine here I usually switch between ordering the chicken chimichanga and the bistek mariposa. Both dishes are full of flavor and served with a healthy helping of refried beans and rice. Both are filling dishes and sometimes I have left overs that I take home. There were a couple of small anomalies this last visit. I was sat rather quickly, but I was put at a table where the setting sun was shining directly at the table. The waitress was nice when I asked to move tables, but I think they could have thought ahead on this one. The appetizer cheese dip I ordered, which was quite tasty, also arrived with my meal. It's not a big deal, but I would have liked to have enjoyed it before my meal arrived. I ended up taking it home for a good late night snack. One tip: Taqueria Mexico is open late, so if you're out late socializing and don't want late night fast food, call the restaurant and make a take out order.

In the rotation of restaurants frequented by my husband and I, Taqueria Mexico No. 4 is at the top of the list. I'll let you in on a little secret. Because there are other similarly named restaurants on SW Boulevard, we've adopted a nickname for the restaurant -- "the place on Rainbow." Or, simply, "Rainbow." If another restaurant opens by that name, we're screwed! But enough talk - let's get to the food. The glorious, delicious food. I'll confess - it took me a few visits to perfect my order. The ceviche tostada sounded good, but was overloaded with lime and hard to swallow. The chimichanga was tasty (but, really - how can you mess up a deep-fried burrito?) I didn't find true love until I skipped over to the a la carte menu. I love that so many Mexican restaurants offer this option because I can't stand beans of any form and usually don't care for rice. I'd rather have a couple of different tacos or enchiladas so that I can try a variety of items. Now, however, I never deviate from my order. Three a la carte soft tacos with carne asada. They'll ask if you want onions and cilantro, and the correct response is "Yes, please!" Each time, the steak has been perfectly cooked - juicy, flavorful and just a hint of char on the outside to give it an extra bite. Topped with the tangy cilantro and fresh onions, it's an incredibly flavorful combination (although if you're on a date and you order this, pack some gum. Or a miniature bottle of mouthwash.) Rob and I usually start the meal with an order of the restaurant's queso, which is delicious. The salsa is good quality, too. We're always surprised at how quickly the food comes out, although the last couple of times the kitchen seems to have been overloaded. Despite that minor inconvenience, this is still a must-try, and I have no doubt we'll return within a matter of days!

No one loves the Mexican Tuba more than me, no one. I would eat Mexican food every day if I could and luckily I'm an adult, so I can. The slightly intimidating menu (i.e. bright colors, lots of options,) contained some of our favorite dishes. Fish Tacos! Yes. Very simple and clean, the clincher was the fresh guacamole, the pico, and the Tapatio, brought specifically to me and delivered with a wink. (I swoon for a wink.) Also, the FT's came WITHOUT rice and beans, which is how I wanted it. My compadres dined on a shredded beef burrito (excellent seasoning AND sauce,) a large, fist sized Chimichanga, reported to be standard but good and a chili relleno that looked nothing like the picture but was eaten in its entirety in a swift manner and will be ordered again. The service was great, at one point when we had abandoned one of our group, our waitress actually checked the bathrooms for us, for our friend. (We were outside, but that, is service.) It's only taken me 4 years to dine here as it is on my way to work but it will be waaay less then that to go back, the Tuba awaits.

Service is always wonderful; fast and friendly. Great family spot. They are always sweet to my little one and take time to make him feel special and a part of the table. My favorite dish is the Camarones a la Diabla. This is one mighty flavorful dish that packs a little heat. They also have a wonderful vegetable fajita plate. One of my favorite spots for sure!

" Meh " pretty much describes it. If you really think this place is 4-5 stars, I can recommend Lobito's and Senor Tequila to you; not to mention El Patron and Margarita's. There's better Mex food to be had in KC than this place. We stopped here on a whim; the service and the decor were fine, but unfortunately the food was below standard. It wasn't expensive though, which was nice. Caveat Emptor: Only (1) free refill on the on-tap soda. Definitely not expected, so I ordered some "agua" as well. They had a small selection of Jarritos available, but IIRC there were only 1-2 flavors. I had 2 Pastor tacos ( soft Flour shell ) and a hardshell Chorizo taco, with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was unmemorable, and -both- the chips and the hard taco shell were **stale** - like they had been left out in the open air all day. Eeg. The flavor of the meat for both selections was a bit on the bland side. I'm from Chicago originally, so I definitely have preferences on how chorizo should taste. (Original Taco on Route 12, how I miss you sometimes... That was my Standard. Five-star place, that. Cash only mind you, but GREAT food.) Taqueria wasn't exactly "bad" - but nothing about the place would prompt me to go back; like I said, there's better food out there.

After hanging out at the Summer Classics Yelp Event (yay Joi !) the Wolf and I went on the prowl for some Mexican provisions. Being so close to my most favorite place, El Patron, we opted to meander over. Alas, I should have known....huge line and wait. We passed Taqueria Mexico on the way over and since Wolf was getting that "I'm gonna gnaw my own arm off" look, we headed back there. Since becoming a yelper, I'm up for new places....err... most of the time anyway. I was really encouraged by the look of the place and was taken aback at the size of it inside. Holy Mole' ! It's huge ! I really liked the fact that I didn't feel like I was sitting on top of the table next to me. I was impressed that they could have overrun the place with more seating, but opted not to. Great atmosphere....bright....festive. The service was great. Very attentive. We never lacked for refills, salsa, chips which were so-so. I ordered the ground beef Chimichanga. It came with rice and beans, guacamole, pico, lettuce, and sour cream. Titanic portions! My plate would have sunk the iceberg. The food wasn't "bad", it just wasn't memorable....nothing I'd ever go back for. I'd much rather have a smaller plate of quality than a huge plate of mediocrity. People that have mild tastebuds and enjoy a great value will love this place. I'll wait in line next time. ; )

One the BLVD you will find many mexican eating establishments and they all do something well. Taqueria #4 is great when it comes to service and getting you in and out fast. The food is okay and always comes out very hot and well seasoned. I wish the rice and beans had more flavor but this place is more volume than anything else. If you want great mexican food go to little Mexico and any place will blow the roof off of here. The staff is always friendly and right there when you need a refill on chips, salsa, or your beverage of choice. I would give them 4 stars but honestly there is higher quality to be had down the street for the same price, but this place can get you in and out for lunch in under 30 minutes.

Good food, awful customer experience. I have been coming here for years and never been treated so poorly before today's visit. I ordered my food to go, paid, and returned home to discover they messed up my order. This was a first. I called them to ask them to refund my card and the girl who was on the phone, the same girl who took my order at the checkout, told me they would not refund my money. She told me I could either get credit for a future visit or come back and get my order fixed. I was craving this, so I went back... despite it being a 15 minute drive each way. When I returned, the girl was incredibly rude to me. I told her I needed my order replaced like we discussed on the phone and she said I would only get my meal replaced, not the chips and cheese. I told her that I took an hour out of my time to come up and resolve their mistake and I wanted my full order replaced because I want my food to all be fresh and hot together. Makes sense, right? I don't want to return home 30 minutes later to cheese that is not fresh and warm like the rest of my meal. The girl was so rude to me and made it clear that she has no clue how to interface with customers. She glared at me, raised her voice to me, and flat out said they would not fix my order. She began making a scene complaining about me to her manager and colleagues, and I went to talk to the bartender about speaking with the manager about her treatment towards me and her general behavior. The bartender was nice and understood that I come to this restaurant all the time and said he would talk to the manager. Throughout this, the girl came up to me and the bartender and told me I needed to leave without my corrected order and told me she didn't care if they lost a customer who has gone there for years. The bartender then chimed in trying to tell her to shut up and to never treat customers like that and she just walked off. Finally the manager came over and asked what he could do to "make me leave." Now, mind you, at no point had I been loud or made a scene. Their own employee was taking care of that all on her own. Despite the managers horribly rude way of phrasing his question to a loyal customer, he finally replaced my complete order. Upon handing me my order he asked "now you'll leave happy?" Who phrases things like that? On my way out, the girl who was so rude to me proceeded to glare at me as I walked from the bar to the door. Just giving me this death stare the entire way. And she had customers at her counter trying to pay! After all of this, I can promise them that they will never get my money again. And to think of all the people I've referred there...that will never happen again either. I strongly do NOT recommend this restaurant due to their absolutely horrible and rude customer service. They clearly do not care about customer loyalty or satisfaction.

I don't go here a lot... I prefer the place across the street, but this place is still good. The service is always great when I'm there. This time had the taco salad; it was kind of...juicy? I don't know how to explain it... it was like taco soup. The taste was fine, but I needed a spoon.

The margarita was better than the food. The salsa tasted fresh but tasted more like tomato paste. There was nothing in it, no cilantro, onions, or green peppers. However, the rice on the side of my chicken quesadilla did have peas, carrots, and corn which made me smile. I would usually order a burrito or chimichangas but I wasn't that hungry. The quesadilla wasn't bad just didn't knock my socks off. The chicken was shredded and I did taste some cilantro but otherwise boring. I felt the whole meal was just altogether bland and Americanized and it seemed too over priced for that. Go there for drinks if you must, they do come in small, medium, and large! Then go some where else for dinner. One thing this city doesn't have a shortage of its Mexican and BBQ places. Also the service was not great. They weren't straight to rude but not at all attentive either. I had to ask for a glass of water three times!

Some of my favorite mexican food in KC! My roommate my freshman year of college introduced me to this restaurant and I've been a fan ever since. My girlfriend and I frequent the restaurant on Wednesdays, since margaritas are $1.99 and tacos are $.99 each. They've got some pretty great deals, not to mention the best carne asada tacos I've ever had. The service is great too, but not usually if you're in large groups. I recommend it highly if you're interested in some cheap, authentic mexican.

This place is alright. The food tasted good, but I was disappointed in their selection of dishes. Not all of the dishes come with beans and rice. They also didn't have a lot of dishes with cheese. We had a medium strawberry frozen margarita for $5 and it was big enough for the both of us. We had two entrees and a drink and cheese dip for the free chips and salsa and our tab was about $40. They don't have booths, either, just tables and chairs.

After undergoing some rather unpleasant tests at K.U. Med Center (don't ask!) I was feeling pretty jangled. I had seen Taqueria Mexico on my way to my appointment, so I pulled in to have a late lunch and decompress a bit! The menu seems to have all the favorites and other dishes that are less common, like molcajetes (served in a big volcanic rock mortar) and alambres. They had enchiladas poblanas on the menu -- one of my favorite versions, cooked in mole sauce instead of the usual red or green ones. The order was very generous, with four big chicken enchiladas. I thought there would be rice and beans to accompany them, but perhaps I misread the menu. They arrived all alone on a platter, in solitary splendor! The sauce was good, slightly spicy but fairly sweet. My idea of mole should be just a touch sweet, but this wasn't bad at all. It was a lot of food, actually, so I brought half of it home. All this was washed down with a nice, ice-cold Bohemia beer, which helped calm my jangled nerves. I'd go back the next time I have to be at K.U. Med Center, and probably will try their chiles rellenos, another of my favorite dishes. I suspect they'll be good!

I just can't give this place more than two stars. I have been to the Independence Ave location once for carryout and when I got home half my order was missing. I attributed that to human error and blamed myself for not checking so when we noticed this location on one of several trips to Sabor Y Sol, we liked the looks of the patio and decided to try it. Unfortunately, the service seemed to be mediocre at best. We had the best server in there and it was just okay. Other tables were obviously struggling with their servers. More importantly, I really question the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The dishes just did not have that made from scratch feel about them and the various meats we tried seemed to be of very poor quality. As noted in one of the other reviews, the interior is very cavernous and while it was a pretty slow night tonight it was still very loud. I can only imagine what it is like on a busy night or if someone had some really loud children. It would make for a very unpleasant experience. I really can't include this one in my rotation.

A party of 3 ate lunch at this restaurant on 21 Mar 2012. We were seated quickly and chips and salsa arrived within the minute we were seated. Waitress was quick and took our drink orders. They arrived promptly. Then our food order was taking quickly. There menu is extensive, with a special Express Lunch menu provided. Two of us had the L3, one taco and one enchilada, and one had the L5, 3 tacos, all with rice and black beans. I didn't time it, but estimate the food arrived within 5 minutes. It was hot and tasty. Nothing special, but good food and the right proportion for us. Would recommend it.

Nope, didn't like it. I went with my Spanish class because the teacher told me it was authentic mexican. If 'authentic' means 'cooked in lard', then he was right, but I left with an upset tummy. It could have used more fresh ingredients too. Also, the salsa could have been better.

Indeed the best Mexican food in town. Some of my favs include the shrimp soup, ceviche, chicken a la parrilla, but I think my newest Taqueria love is BREAKFAST! Yes indeed you can order breakfast any time! I had breakfast and a margarita for lunch the other day and it made my week. And you get just as much food as you would with any other meal but it's only $5! An egg scramble with beans and tortillas for $5...how can you beat that? Enjoy!

Accommodated our party of 10 quickly. The salsa is very mild, puréed and tastes ok--wouldn't come here for the salsa. I loved the queso blanco. My large portion ceviche was fresh and not too "limey." My daughter ordered the cheeseburger from the kids menu and said it was "perfect" (take that how you will--she's 12). I'd return here if in the neighborhood.

The meals were tasty!! We had the chimichangas and the quesadilla and it was yummy! The only reason it was a 4 instead of a five is that we don't know anything about the service as we ordered take out and the chimichanga had a cheese sauce which was sort of strange but it didn't make the meal horrible it was still delicioso! The price was awesome too!! I would definitely go back!

The food and customer service here is always good. They have a large selection to choose from and the prices are pretty average. I've heard that have good deals here on Cinco De Mayo as well, although I've never been on that day. If you're in the area, its definitely worth checking out.

Really disappointed in the food. It was all very bland- kind of like microwave dinner version of Mexican food. I had the enchilada and tamale plate and my husband had the nachos. We couldn't eat it. Chips n salsa was good. We are from Texas maybe we are just used to better Mexican food. :) otherwise the place is very clean and the staff very nice.

Standard mexican food - not amazing, not terrible. Honestly, large portions & their mole is AMAZING!!! Salsa is a little sweet (like spaghetti sauce) & the red enchilada salsa wasn't very good. Staff was FANTASTIC. Came here rushed - they helped us quickly & made sure we were taken care of in the limited time we had. Very happy with that.

I love mexican food and am always open to new places but this is by far the worst place I've ever been to. The salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce. I couldn't even drink my margarita because it was so bad. I had to order a diet coke instead. The fajita burrito was extremely bland. On top of the awful food, our server was awful. He never checked on us once after receiving our food. It took 15 minutes to get a check. Save your time and money and travel a little farther down southwest boulevard for some better mexican! Update: food poisoning.

Trying to locate a good place in KC for breakfast taco or burrito. I had the Huevos Con Chorizo which hit the spot but was pretty bland so had to add sone salt/pepper. Salsa"s and chips were decent but not the best. My wife's Chiliquilles (sp?) was very good. Overall good place, will go back and try something different.

Staff friendly, perfect decor, margaritas best I've had in a while, but chicken salad has room for improvement!

Seated quickly. Had a beautiful lady walking around singing. Nice touch. Salsa not hot but probably fine for most of the people here. No cilantro. chips standard Costco variety. Which is not a bad thing. I like Costco chips. Side issue. Ordered guacamole to go with the chips. The guacamole included tomato onion and a slight amount of cilantro. I like spicy food, so generally I always ask if they have a hotter salsa which my waiter brought. Ordered chili rellanos Food came quickly. Had red sauce on top with corn. Interesting sauce. A little soggy. I asked if the chili rellanos were made fresh, to which the waiter said everyday. I suspect microwave due to the soggy crust. Could be from too much sauce. I'm leaning toward microwave due to speed of food arriving. Queso fresco cheese on top. Stuffed with probably jack cheese. Combo plate came with beans and rice. Beans were ok. Rice didn't have much flavor plus peas and carrots added. Not a fan of the peas and carrots in Mexican rice.

First time eating here. Went with three buddies. Loved the atmosphere and setting. Felt like a more traditional Mexican restaurant with the upbeat music and wild colors used to decorate. We sat at the bar and had great service. Bartender was friendly and provided fast service. I ordered a shredded beef taco, chicken enchilada, and a ground beef burrito. Everything was great. Especially the enchilada. The manager took notice that we were first time customers and bought us all a round of tequila. Margaritas were also very good. Prices were fair. Will definetly be back.

Terrible service. Mediocre food at best. Considering there are a half a dozen better places down the street I dont even know why people come and give their money to this place. Do you love your salsa without spice and tasting more like a bright tomato puree? Then you my friend are in luck. This place is your run of the mill Tex-Mex place with garish decor that white people of KCK apparently love. The dining room is cavernous and with the tile floors it almost makes it IMPOSSIBLE to hear a conversation you might be trying to have. If there are loud children or babies there crying or whining then youre pretty much out of luck since its all youre going to be able to listen to. This place is a worthless waste of time and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

I took my family here for a nice lunch, I've eaten here before (the food taste good), but this time our server forgot we existed. We were seated by the manager (the last we seen of him), our waitress came and took our drink order but she was rushing us to order our food. We hadn't decided yet so she had to come back. We ordered our food when she returned and that would be the last we seen of her. Thank God she at least placed our order. Another server brought our food and then we were never checked on again. I asked another server to refill our drinks, and yet another to get us boxes and our check. To make things worse we could see our server sitting at a table in the back eating. When we were standing to leave she finally approached us. Asking if we needed our check (guess she thought she might miss out on her tip), I informed her we already received it from some one else and that she could have came and checked on us. She informed me she was on break. I let her know she might want to have someone actually watch over her tables if she decides she needs to break or not take the table is she knows she's not going to serve it. I was furious- I've worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and this is by far the most horrible experience I think I have ever had. We will never go back!

We went last night for our 2nd visit. The 1st visit was really, really good. However, this 2nd try was not great. It took a bit for anyone to come to take our drink order, I did not get the rice I ordered (yet, it was on my bill), we asked for no tomatoes in the fajitas & there was quite a few tomatoes when it arrived, and we did not get our bill until I asked for it. Instead of getting us the bill, our waitress decided it was a good time to take a break. We may give it another chance.

Sunday for lunch had large crowd. Waitresses were very slow. Got three tacos al carte. Wanted extra $3 for rice and beans. Weird.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
